We are excited to share that at last night’s Board of School Directors meeting, the Board appointed Dr. Daniel Weber as Cumberland Valley School District’s new Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education. He is expected to begin his new role on November 23.

Dr. Weber brings more than a decade of secondary school leadership experience to Cumberland Valley, with a career focused on expanding opportunities for students, strengthening academic programs, and developing pathways that prepare students for success beyond the classroom.

Since 2019, Dr. Weber has served as principal of Wilson High School, where he oversees more than 130 employees and has led initiatives centered on the student experience. Among them are individualized graduation pathways, expanded dual enrollment and dual credit opportunities, a growing internship program, and a ninth-grade center designed to better support students as they transition to high school.

Prior to his time at Wilson, Dr. Weber spent six years as an assistant principal at Manheim Township High School. There, he helped create the district’s cyber school program and supported technology and instructional initiatives across the high school. His career in education began in the classroom as a physics and mathematics teacher at J.P. McCaskey High School. Before entering education, he worked as an industrial engineer.

Dr. Weber earned his bachelor’s degree in Physics from Franklin & Marshall College, a master’s degree in Education from Albright College, and his doctorate in Education from Immaculata University. He also holds his Pennsylvania Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility and K-12 Principal certification.

Dr. Weber shared his enthusiasm for joining the district:

Cumberland Valley has a strong tradition of excellence, and I look forward to working alongside the district’s students, staff, families, and community to learn, build on that tradition, and create new opportunities for our students.
