On Saturday, March 28th, CVSD’s Science Olympiad teams competed at the Pennsylvania Science Olympiad Central Region Tournament at Millersville University, and the results were outstanding.
In Division B (grades 6 to 9), Eagle View took 1st place overall, medaling in 22 of 23 events, while Mountain View earned 3rd place overall, medaling in 20 of 23 events. In Division C (grades 9 to 12), Cumberland Valley claimed 1st place overall, medaling in all 23 events.
Cumberland Valley students earned multiple first-place finishes in Astronomy, Boomilever, Bungee Drop, Chemistry Lab, Disease Detectives, and Dynamic Planet. Eagle View and Mountain View also excelled, with standout performances in Circuit Lab, Codebusters, Dynamic Planet, Rocks and Minerals, Hovercraft, and Machines.
Throughout the competition, students demonstrated their Portrait of an Eagle competencies, using communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking to tackle every challenge.
