Course Selection, Scheduling, and Program of Studies

Course Planning Night is scheduled for February 17, 2026, from 6-8pm in the PAC at Cumberland Valley High School. Click HERE for more information.

It is imperative for students to take the course selection process seriously. Please read the Program of Studies and speak to teachers and counselors to fully understand the expectations, workload, and rigor of the courses offered. Students should select courses based on personal and academic goals with consideration of future coursework and post-secondary requirements. Schedule changes cannot be made after the posted deadlines.

Attention Student Athletes! Please see your school counselor if you have any interest in playing sports in college. It is essential that you take NCAA-approved courses to be eligible to play a sport in college. Failure to take these courses may cost you opportunities and scholarships.

Personal Money Management Required for all Juniors: Starting in the 2026-27 school year, all rising Juniors must take Personal Money Management (0.5 credit). This is a state mandate.

AP, Honors, Level 2, or Level 3? Please carefully consider levels when selecting courses. Speak to your teachers or school counselor if you are unsure what levels are the right fit for you. It's important to have balance between academics, sports, extracurriculars, social activities, family, friends, and other life commitments.

Course Withdrawals (new for 2026-27): For students in grades 10-12, withdrawing from a course during the school year will be reflected on your academic transcript. Please see pages 19-20 in the Program of Studies for more information.

Questions? Please contact your teacher, counselor, or department supervisor/chairperson with questions about courses (a list of supervisors/chairpersons and contact information can be found on page 5 of the Program of Studies). For questions about the scheduling process, please contact your grade-level principal or Mr. Andrechik.
