NEW & PREFERRED METHOD FOR ATTENDANCE
We are excited to announce the launch The Skyward Family Access Attendance tile. It is active and is meant to simplify submitting student attendance.
Utilization of the Skyward Family Access attendance tile will replace handwritten notes and/or Google form absence submissions. Parents/Guardians may complete the attendance tile for their child(ren) in advance of or on the day of the absence. Should the absence require additional information or documentation (such as the completion of an educational trip form), the school will reply to the notification through Skyward with additional instructions.
Please click here to view a tutorial video on how to enter an absence notification via Skyward’s attendance tile.
Parents/Guardians may access the attendance tile through either the Skyward app or by logging into their account through a web browser.
Please
submit a parent note on Skyward, through the parent portal with a
reason within 3 school days of the absence. Failure to comply will result in an unexcused absence.
Early Dismissals:
-
Advance notice (recommended:) Parents must submit this request via Skyward at least 1 day in advance. Doing so will avoid delays in your student's release from class. Please note, the time you enter is the time students are released from class. Allow enough time for your student to meet you; 5 minutes is recommended.
When Leaving the School:
- Students are to sign the clipboard in their GRADE LEVEL ATTENDANCE OFFICE before leaving the building. This provides a record for the school.
Tardy to School:
- All students arriving late are to sign-in at the attendance office with a note. Tardy notes from doctors and professional appointments are always excused. Parent notes are always accepted and reviewed based on criteria set forth by the state and CV.
Picking-up Students:
- If the procedure above is followed, there is no need to physically come into the school to pick-up your student. However, please arrange a convenient location where you can meet. Students being dismissed during the school day are often picked-up by the flagpole, outside the main office. There is 10 minute parking along the curb for your convenience.
- PLEASE NOTE: The Main Office visitor lot is closed from 7:00 AM until 7:45 AM in the morning, and then again in the afternoon from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM for buses.
Career Visits:
- Students are allowed 2 career visit days per year. Click on the link to the left to download the form. Students take the “Career Visitation Form” with them to the organization visited. The form is the excuse for the student. He or she is to return it to their Attendance Office, as any other absent note. Questions should be directed to Mrs. Consevage ([email protected] or 717 506-3516)
College Visits:
- Students are allowed 2 college visit days per year. Click here or to the left to download the form. Students take the “College Visitation Form” with them to the college to be completed by officials of the college, university, or tech school. The form is the excuse for the student. He or she is to return it to their Attendance Office, as any other absent note. Questions should be directed to Mrs. Ferguson ([email protected] or 717 506-3632).
Educational Trips:
- Students are allowed 2 educational trips per year, totaling no more than 5 days. The "Educational Trip" form is in the Attendance Office; or click here or to the left to download the form. Please, have it completed and returned one week before the absence. No trips are excused the last 10 days of school or during state-mandated testing times.
