Applying for an Internship

Applying for an Internship

Students interested in participating in the Internship Program will meet with the Career Coordinator to discuss their interest. If a student decides to pursue an internship, they will be provided a Student Internship Guide. Within the Student Internship Guide, students must complete the application along with the confidentiality statement and return both documents to the Career Coordinator.

Based on the application, students can either pursue an opportunity with an established host or provide the Career Coordinator with a potential host. If the student has secured their own internship host, they must initiate the pre-approval process prior to the start of their internship. If the student would like to participate with an established CV internship host, an interview will be scheduled and the student will be notified of any additional documents to complete.

Students must complete the application and interview process to be offered the position. Some internship applications may require additional paperwork such as a resume and/or essay. Students should complete the process at least four weeks prior to the start of the internship. Failure to complete the application process may delay the student's ability to start an internship. Please note that there may not be internship opportunities available for certain career interests, and submitting an application does not guarantee placement at an internship site.

If an application deadline is set by the internship host, the application and other required paperwork must be submitted to the Career Coordinator two weeks prior to the internship host application deadline.

After the interview, it is the right of the host to decide which student(s) will be accepted. Once the student accepts the internship offer, the Career Coordinator will contact the student and internship host to complete the required documents before the internship may begin.

Interested students should see Mrs. Consevage for an internship application in the Career and Counseling Center.
