Summer School Eligibility: Students need to earn at least a 50% as their final grade during the school year to be eligible to take a summer school course.

Passing Summer School:  In order to pass a summer school course, students must earn at least a 70% as their final grade in the course.

Transcripts: Students' failing grades in the original course will be reported on their transcript.  Once the student has remediated the course during summer school, an additional line will be added to their transcript indicating the summer school course and the grade earned.  Grades earned during summer school do not count towards students' overall GPAs while failing grades earned during the school year do count.

Grade Reports and Parental Notification: Parents will be notified of students grades in summer school if they are in danger of failing.  Additionally, a progress report will be sent out at the midway point of the summer school course.  A final grade report will be mailed home after the conclusion of the course.  If you do not receive a final grade report by August 1, please contact David Gilbert (dgilbert@cvschools.org), Director of Summer Programs.
